Indication:

Azicox-2^® is a product that associated a bactericidal antibiotic from the group of the macrolide group - Azithromycin - and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory with selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibition activity (COX-2) - Meloxicam

Azithromycin is a modern antibiotic that presents, besides a broad action spectrum, pharmacokinetic characteristics that allow high intracellular concentration and prolonged permanence in tissues, providing, therefore, therapeutic results with a shorter period of treatment.

Meloxicam selectively blocks COX-2, providing anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-exudative activity with minimum gastric lesions or ulcerogenic effects. Besides these effects, Meloxicam also inhibits the infiltration of leukocytes on inflamed tissue and prevents bone and cartilage destruction that happens in bone and cartilage degenerative processes.

Azicox-2^® provides broad spectrum antibiotic, combating the cause of infections, while treating the inflammation and its effects.

Azicox-2^® is indicated to the treatment of respiratory affections (caused by Bordetella spp, Chlamydia spp, Haemophilus spp, Pasteurella spp, Shigella spp, Streptococcus spp, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus), skin and its annexes, (caused by Corynebacterium spp, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus intermedius, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus spp, Pausterella multocida), urogenital (Streptococcus spp, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus), digestive (diarrheas caused by Escherichia coli), oral (gingivitis and periodontitis) and arthritis, osteomyelites and discitis (Escherichia coli). In the post-operative of arthroplasty, bone surgeries, dental surgeries, treatments or prophylaxis of periodontal disease and general trauma in cats and dogs.
